There is nothing like trying to turn on your laptop to have it not respond. you do the survey of the computer and then the day to yourself "Well, it is a few years old. I guess she is dead". if you are like me, I can't run out and buy another one right then. My wallet run a bit of a thin side. So, my laptop decided to take a permanent vacation, it didn’t even have a thought of starting up. I can’t be without my computer, I work on one all day at work and again until I go to sleep. I got kids in school that need to do research, and does anyone really own encyclopedias anymore?
Buying a new one is out of my budget. I could try getting a working motherboard for it and just replace that, but the case has been used and abused. I did mention I have kids, right? I don’t trust buying stuff like that on an online auction site. I figured I would give the world of refurbished a try. I have bought refurbished tools in the past that worked great. After, some mad searching I found that some sites were charging almost as much as new. I also saw licensed refurbishers that sold computer that were tested and repaired that might have some dings or scratches. OK, I am a bit hesitant. But, 100% guarantee. Now you got my attention.
I ended up replacing my laptop with one that had a little bit faster processor (similar to http://www.reusetek.com/toshiba-satellite-l355d-s7901-laptop/). It has a couple of scratches in it, but it was well within my budget. In fact I got another one for my kids. They work great, and did not break the bank.
